Tekken 3

Tekken 3 set fifteen years after the King of the Iron Fist Tournament 2, the story starts with Jun Kazama, who has been living a quiet life in Yakushima with her young son, Jin, who is the son of Kazuya Mishima Heihahi Mishima, of the Mishima Zaibatsu. Using the company's influence, Heihachi is responsible for many events that have ultimately led to world peace. However, while on an excavation in Mexico, a squadron of Heihachi's Tekken Force is attacked and vanquished by a mysterious being. The only surviving soldier manages to relay a brief message to Heihachi, describing the perpetrator as an "Ogre" or a "Fighting God".

Tekken 3 Heihachi and a team of soldiers investigate, with Heihachi managing to catch a glimpse of the culprit. After seeing the Ogre character, Heihachi's long dormant dream of world domination is reawakened. He seeks to capture Ogre to use him for this goal. Soon after, various martial arts masters begin disappearing from all over the world, and Heihachi is convinced that this is Ogre's doing. In Yakushima, Jun starts to feel the presence of Ogre approaching her and Jin. Knowing that she has become a target, Jun tells Jin about Ogre, and instructs him to go straight to Heihachi should anything happen. Sometime after Jin's fifteenth birthday, Ogre does indeed attack. Against Jun's wishes, Jin valiantly tries to fight Ogre off, but Ogre brushes him aside and knocks him unconscious.

Driven by revenge, Jin goes to Heihachi and tells him everything. Jin begs Heihachi to train him to become strong enough to face Ogre again. Heihachi accepts. Four years later, Jin grows into an impressive fighter and master of Mishima Style Karate. On Jin's nineteenth birthday, the King of the Iron Fist Tournament 3 is announced, and Jin prepares for his upcoming battle against Ogre. He is unaware, however, that Heihachi is merely using him and the rest of the competitors as bait to lure Ogre out in order to capture him.

Tekken 3 Eventually, the tournament leads to the final confrontation between Jin and Ogre. After being beaten in the first round, Ogre turns into a much more powerful "true" from, known to players as True Ogre. The battle rages for hours, until Jin finally emerges the victor and Ogre completely dissolves. Moments later, Jin is gunned down by a squadron of the Tekken Force led by Heihachi, who, no longer needing Jin, finishes the job personally by firing a final shot into his grandson's head. However, Jin, revived by the Devil Gine within him (which he inherited from Kazuya), reawakens and makes quick work of the soldiers, turning his attention to Heihachi and literally smashing him through the wall of the temple. Heihachi survives the long fall, but Jin, in mid-air, sprouts black, feathery wings and strikes Heihachi one last time. He then flies off into the night, leaving his bewildered grandfather staring after him.System

PRINCE OF PERSIA THE SANDS OF TIME

Prince of Persia The Sands of Time Sands of Time places players in control of a character known only as The Prince, son of King Sharaman of Persia. While on a journey to a neighboring kingdom, the Prince unknowingly releases the cursed Prince of Persia Sands The of Time. The rest of the game pits the player against sands demons - former humans transformed by the Sands - and an even deadlier environment.

The premise is used to divide the game into two segments: combat and plat forming. Most of the player's time is spent utilizing the Prince's vast array of acrobatic techniques to navigate the palace. These plat forming segments are broken up by combat against the palace's transformed denizens. In combat, the Prince's acrobatic strengths are augmented by his formidable swordsmanship. Both segments often require the aid of the Dagger of time, a magical relic that can manipulate time itself and undo mistakes made by the player.321

To navigate the palace, the Prince must utilize every skill in his acrobatic arsenal: from simple running and jumping to running along walls, dodging hazards, and swinging from poles. The environment can be as dangerous as any sand demon; the palace is littered with spikes, saws, and blades. Accompanying the levels are light puzzle elements, forcing the Prince to pull switches, manipulate mirrors, and search for hidden pathways. Engaging the enemy with acrobatics Breaking up the plat forming and puzzle elements are faster-paced combat segments. Again, the Prince must use his acrobatic abilities to best his opponents by leaping, rolling, and outmaneuvering his assailants. Defeating the sand demons requires the use of both sword and dagger. The sword is used to force enemies to the ground, which if left unattended will rise to fight again. Only by using the magical Dagger of Time can the Prince strike a finishing blow that will banish the sand demon and absorb the cursed sands.

During both plat forming and combat, the player will often make mistakes and require assistance. Help comes in the form of the Dagger of Time's magical abilities, beginning with the ability to rewind time and undo mistakes (and unfortunate deaths). Through the course of the game, new dagger techniques are unlocked: the ability to slow time and freeze enemies. Needless to say, the dagger is often critical to the success of the player. IGI 2 Covert Strike

IGI 2 Some years ago I reviewed a game called Project IGI: I'm Going In. Of all the things I've ever written, from high school essays to making my living as a writer, that review is a favorite of mine because I was just so damned witty when I mocked the game's title. I noted that Citizen Kane would not have been nearly as popular had it been called Dude, Where's My Sled? and pointed out that no matter how good or bad a game is, you're doomed without a quality title. Project IGI: I'm Going In is an example of a bad title.

It also had plenty of other problems, including a dumb-as-deadwood AI, no in-mission saves, and a graphic engine that looked like it had grown a coat of fur. I ridiculed and I lambasted. Just about everyone else in the gaming press felt the same way—Project IGI definitely won the "Nice Try" award but was too deeply flawed to be worthy of serious attention.

Yet, years later, I still play the game. I still play the game. On and off, yes; usually when I've been drinking, yes; but Project IGI: I'm Going In has galled me for years because despite the fact that it is desperately flawed, worthy of a 4 out of 10 at best, it has a certain indefinable charm that has kept me coming back to it over and over again. It is without question the only example of a "bad" game that I play and replay.

So you can imagine my shame/excitement when Innerloop Studios announced IGI 2: Covert Strike. They apparently sensed my derision and retooled the I.G.I. acronym to mean not I'm Going In but Institute for Geotactical Intelligence, a quasi-clandestine international good-doers group. Once again you play the role of David Llewelyn Jones, a former member of the British Special Air Service turned mercenary. In a series of games best described as a humorless No One Lives Forever, Jones and the rest of the IGI team trot the globe, righting wrongs and making the world safe for normal taxpayers.

The original Project IGI told the story of a nuclear warhead stolen by Russian terrorists. Jones was tasked with first finding and then securing the stolen nuke before the bad guys could flatten a city with it. Helping along the way was Major Rebecca Anya, your voluptuous blonde controller who offered mission briefings, occasional witticisms, and moral support, all while sitting behind a computer ten thousand miles away dressed in a completely unmilitary spray-on T-shirt and jeans. muhammadasadmughal.blogspot.com For those few who finished that insanely difficult and often ridiculously frustrating game, one final disappointment awaited: after you secured the nuke, Anya, having joined you physically a few missions earlier, comes bouncing in to defuse it. Once she finishes, you're taken without warning back to the Main Menu. There was no closure in a game that had made a pretty serious effort to be a story-driven FPS.

Meanwhile, IGI 2: Covert Strike deals largely with betrayal within the IGI ranks and the theft of some valuable computer technology that's apparently immune to damage from the electromagnetic pulse released by a nuclear detonation.

Yawn.

Compared to Project IGI's race-against-time broken arrow franticity, the mystery terrorists led by Ekk, a seriously insane former KGB wetgirl, and the elusive, irritatingly indispensable information possessed by chunky arms dealer Jach Priboi, IGI 2: Covert Strike tells a frankly more obvious and less gripping story. Even the traitorous leanings of some characters don't raise many hackles, as they're new characters in which we have no preexisting emotional stake.

Which is not to say the game is bad. It's a vast improvement over the original in nearly every single measurable way; however, it remains to be seen if this sequel holds me in the same mysterious thrall that the original does.
